Bio

                                                  ~Margie Meier~

I am a self-taught glass artist living in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Having worked in health care for many years, I decided to become a
Stay-at-Home Mom after my first child was born.

Dabbling in mosaic glass got my creative juices flowing. Once my kids were in school I became the Chair of “Mosaic Madness” & “Art in the Garden” at their school’s annual Spring Fair. It wasn’t long before I was looking for glass classes to expand my horizons. After my first class at Virginia Commonwealth University I became hooked on the ancient art of fused glass. I have taken classes from some of the masters in fused glass including Jude Schlotzhauer, Jeremy Lipisto, Anna Booth, and Susan Taylor Glasgow.

Since moving to Cincinnati ten years ago I have been invited to participate in the Hyde Park Art Show and the Wyoming Art Show every year. Macy’s chose my mosaic glass design for the 2012 “Big Pig” event at the World Choir Games held in Cincinnati. Most recently, my “Mosaic Warrior” was chosen to hang at the Women’s Health Center, UC West Chester. I am honored to say I was the third place winner among many entries.

Currently I can be found at the Pendleton Art Center in studio 507 every “Final Friday” of the month. Some of my glass pieces can also be found at Gallery Veronique at Harpers Point.
